„I hope you’ll find yourself somewhere someday.“
Hello! My name is Raul Fernando Walther and I’m an Indie-Folk / Progressive Rock musician and aspiring director from Berlin, Germany. My main influences are Classical music, Folk, Hard-Rock and Jazz. I learned to play the piano at a very young age and mainly played Mozart, Bach and Beethoven. While growing up, my taste of music expanded to more experimental Bands. Keeping my love for the piano, I also took saxophone lessons. After that, I taught myself how to play the E-Guitar and later the Acoustic Guitar. Sometimes I play the drums and bass, but my main focus stays on the piano and the guitar.
In July of 2019 I started working on my first own album and learned how to record, produce and mix songs. I wrote 9 Songs and played all the instruments myself. For me, the story/lyrics are the most important part - I always write them first.
In January of 2020 I finished and released my first album “we burnt stuff” to all major platforms. My live-tour was sadly cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so I started working on my second album. I got contacted by a young director, who wanted to film a music-video for my song “Stars in May”. So I gathered some friends and filmed it. In the editing process I started to do the video-editing himself, because I felt there were some rhythmic and story-telling issues. We finished the music-video and it was released in July of 2020.
My second album “Dark City Lights” was released in October of 2020 after months of countless working hours. Up next is a music-video and my second book. The songs reflect my life experiences in my own way; my main topics are always isolation, loneliness, family, nature and love.
Apart from writing songs, I also composed music for short-movies, wrote a script for a short-movie, worked as a Boom-Operator, wrote a book and am currently writing my second one. My lifetime goal is the release of my 4 albums and directing my own movie.
